Today was gloriously mild and sunny inspiring me to take some photographs of our daffodils, which continue their stoic reach skywards despite the torrential rain, wind and cold we've been experiencing of late. In direct contrast are the bare branches of the Kowhai tree growing in a neighbour's garden - I love the angular shapes set against a momentarily overcast sky. These pictures were taken only fifteen minutes and a small number of degrees apart!

Beautiful Denise. Isn't nature awe inspiring. I read a book once called 'Dakota' about a woman who moved there from NYC. She would tend to her flowers in the morning sun with the knowledge that by afternoon they'd be covered in ice.
ReplyDeleteWhen drawing I constantly find myself enthralled by the intricacy and beauty of my subject matter.
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds wonderful..
